Practical Nursing Program (LPN)

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES provides the opportunity for adult learners to complete a program in Practical Nursing. As a practical nursing student, you will learn to identify, plan, implement, evaluate and provide patient care in preparation for the New York State examination for licensure. The program includes classroom instruction in the scientific principles and theory of nursing and laboratory skills training. Clinical experiences include rotation in the long term care setting, continuing care areas, and medical-surgical units. This course includes 1,125 hours of instruction. Admission Requirements - A high school or equivalency diploma
- A pre-enhance test and written essay offered by the Practical Nursing Department
- Attend Career Seminar
- Physical exam indicating good health and current immunizations
- Minimum of two acceptable, professional/work-related references
- Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) CPR certification valid through end of program
