W-FL BOCES Board Elects New Board Leadership

At the July 6, 2010 meeting of the W-FL BOCES Board of Education, Anne Morgan of Romulus was elected to the position of Board President, and Terrie Meyn, who resides in Phelps, was elected to the position of Board Vice President by unanimous vote. The positions of Board President and Vice President are voted on by the current W-FL BOCES Board of Education members including Morgan and Meyn, Patrick Crowe of Clyde, Thomas DeRue of Palmyra, Jeanne Durfee of Walworth, Stuart Einstein of Geneva, Lynn Gay of Bloomfield, O.J. Sahler, M.D. of Canandaigua and Nancy Scher of Dresden. Morgan and Meyn succeeded Tom DeRue and Jeanne Durfee who served as President and Vice President respectively, for their full three-year terms prior to the July election.

Morgan is the sole Assessor for the towns of Covert, Lodi, Ovid, Romulus and Varick. She is serving the third year of her second term on the W-FL BOCES Board of Education. She served 15 years on the Romulus Central School District’s Board of Education, five of those as Board President. She is currently the First Vice President of Four County School Boards Association. Morgan lives in Romulus with her husband Charlie.

Meyn was elected to the W-FL BOCES Board of Education in 2007. She has served on the Phelps-Clifton Springs Board of Education for 13 years and is currently serving as President. She is the Associate Executive Director of Adult Services and Quality Assurance for Happiness House. Meyn is married to Charles Meyn and they have four grown children; Charles, Gregory, Kimberly and Jeffery.
